Hermine Windle, 92, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021 at a local care facility.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 P.M. Saturday, December 11, 2021 with a visitation one hour prior to service time at Faith United Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Hermine was born November 27, 1928 in Orange City, IA, the daughter of John and Alice (Oolman) Jonker. She was raised in Orange City and graduated from Orange City High School in 1946. Following graduation, she attended Northwestern Junior College for a year. She then attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1950. Hermine worked at the Orange City Hospital until June of 1951. She then began working at the Methodist Hospital, now UnityPoint-St. Luke’s, in various positions until her retirement in 1998. On June 1, 1951, she married William Windle. To this union, 5 children were born.

Hermine was a devoted member of Third Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon. In 2016, she became a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Methodist Nurses Club and a golf club. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and for the Soup Kitchen Backpack Program. She also enjoyed crocheting afghans, golfing, and traveling throughout the United States, Canada, England, and Europe.

Those left to honor her memory are her children Vicki Williams of Sioux City, Susan Hefner of Des Moines, IA, Craig (Susan) Windle of Maple Grove, MN, Clark (Michele) Windle of Combine, TX, Sandra (Mike) McCoy of Eldridge, IA; grandchildren Shane Williams, Nathan Williams, Clint Hefner, Anna Windle, Tom Windle, Sam Windle, Sally Densk, Travis Windle, Rogers Windle, Victoria McCoy, Connor McCoy; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings Nelvie Jonker, Hank Jonker, Chalis Altena, Vickie Domis; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Lee Hanesworth.

Memorials can be directed to UnityPoint School of Nursing or Faith United Presbyterian Church.
