Clara Olson age 91 of Rock Rapids, Iowa passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.

Private family services will be held with burial following at Riverview Cemetery in Rock Rapids.

Clara Olson was born June 27, 1930 in Sioux Center, Iowa, the daughter of George and Francis (Popma) Kuhl. She was raised in Sioux Center until her family moved to the Doon, IA area and she completed her education at the eighth grade level on May 26th 1944 in Rock Rapids. Clara was baptized at the First Congregational Church in Doon, IA on December 2, 1945.

She was united in marriage to Ronald T. Olson on January 9, 1957, in Worthington, MN. Together they farmed for many years near Steen, MN. Clara helped with the day-to-day operation of the family farm. After they retired, they moved to a home in Rock Rapids.

Clara was a member of the United Congregational Church in Rock Rapids. She enjoyed gardening, canning and preparing meals. Clara’s husband Ron died on July 18, 2017. She remained living in their home until 2018 when she moved to a condo. She entered the Lyon Specialty Care of Rock Rapids in February of 2018, where she remained until her death this past Sunday, November 21, 2021.

Clara is survived by two sisters-in-law, Margaret Kuhl of Madison, SD and Ruby Kuhl of Stillwater, MN; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Francis Kuhl; two brothers, Carl and Leo Kuhl; one sister, Darlene Folkens; and two brothers-in-law, Arend Folkens and Eugene Olson.
