Todd Michael was born on December 7, 1973, in Sheldon, the youngest son of Adrian “Butch” Merle and Patricia Ardeen (Van’t Hul) Warntjes. He grew up on his family’s farm between Hull and Boyden and attended the Boyden Hull public school. Following his graduation from high school, he enrolled at the Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, where he earned his associates degree in Auto Mechanics.

On March 9, 1996, he was united in marriage to Lisa Anne Hulshof at the Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock.
