Marriage record in the Netherlands lists Rinze De Vries 25 yrs born Drachten Frisland spouse Grietje Henstra born Nijega 27 yrs, Rinze’s parents Oeds Gerben de Vries and Attje Heines Deelstra, Grietje’s parents Bareld Johannes Henstra snd Aukje Tjeeds Westra, married 13 May 1876 Smallingerland, Friesland Netherlands.

The following is from the Volga Courant.
Mrs. R. De Vries, Mrs. Grietje De Vries, born Henstra, 70 years old, 7 months and 9 days. She was born in Nijega, Netherlands, January 27, 1859 and died in Volga (SD) Aug 5, 1920. She married Renze De Vries, May 12, 1876 and came to America with her husband in March 1883, after which she settled in Grand Rapids, where they lived for 16 years.
Two children were born to them Otto, who died three years ago and Mrs. Fred De Groot. They came here from Iowa for about 17 years, and after four years on a farm here, they returned to Sioux County and resided first at Orange City; the last eight years they lived at Sioux Center. Five weeks before her death, Mr. and Mrs. De Vries live here with their children, where Mrs. De Vries has now died. Her faith in Jesus was steadfast to the very end, knowing that she would soon be with Christ.
Her mourning her elderly husband and daughter, Mrs. F. De Groot. The funeral was held at Hillside burial place under the direction of Rev. J. Werkma. From other places at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. B. De Jong of Hull, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Bart Van’t Hull from Rock Valley, Henry De Weerd from Sioux Center and P. Postma from Hull.
