Mr. Jarvis De Wild, age 61, of Hull, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at his residence.

There will be a funeral service on Monday, March 29, at 5:00pm, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. Loren Kotman will officiate. Interment will follow the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, in the church fellowship hall, on the lower level. The Oolman Funeral Home in Hull is in charge of arrangements.

Jarvis Alan was born on April 23, 1959, in Sioux Center, the son of Lawrence and Elnora (Ver Steeg) De Wild. He was raised in rural Boyden and graduated from the Boyden-Hull Community High School.

He was united in marriage to Sharlyn Kroese on June 28, 1978, in Hull. They made their home in Hull, where he worked for Te Slaa Trucking for 35 years. He was passionate about his job and worked while fighting a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.

Jarvis was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull, where he had served as a deacon and a Cadet leader. In earlier years, he had been a member of the First Reformed Church in Hull. Spending time with his children and grandchildren was very important to him, and they made many memories camping and boating together. He and Shari also liked to spend time with their friends, enjoying meals together, and Jarvis regularly followed the sporting events of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Dordt University, and Western Christian High School.

Survivors include his wife of more than 42 years, Shari; his four children, Jeremy De Wild, of Hull; Jonathan De Wild, and his wife, Kaitlyn, of Des Moines; Jeffrey De Wild, and his wife, Jennifer, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and Sarah, and her husband, Cody De Jager, of Doon; four grandchildren, Blake De Wild, Austin De Wild, Makenzie De Wild, and Whitley De Jager; his six siblings, Ardis, and her husband, Earl Bonestroo, of Sheldon; Arlyn De Wild, and his wife, Donna, of Hull; Lonna Smeenk, of Harrisburg, South Dakota; Denice, and her husband, Gary Brunsting, of Mesa, Arizona; Coral, and her husband,f Bill Moulder, of Lakewood, Washington; and Laryl De Wild, and his wife Brenda, of Boyden; a brother-in-law, Verlyn Nyhuis, of Rock Rapids; a sister-in-law, LuAnn De Wild, of Hull; Shari’s brother and his wife, Galen and Connie Kroese, of Hull; her step-mother, Harriet Kroese, of Orange City; and her step siblings, Lynn, and her husband, Quentin Hatfield, of Germantown, Wisconsin; and Lorna, and her husband, Bob Leavitt, of Marcus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and parents-in-law, Gerald and Hendrene Kroese, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara, and her husband, Lawrence Lyells, and Carleen Nyhuis; a brother, Eldon De Wild; and two brothers-in-law, LeRoy Foreman and Merlyn Smeenk.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be directed to the Western Christian High School in Hull.

Following the committal service at the cemetery, relatives and friends are invited to join the family in the church fellowship hall, on the lower level, for supper and fellowship.
