------
Sioux Center Nieuwsblad of 20 Apr 1921
Thursday April 14 we were taken by death our son, Freddie Dijkhuizen, one of the twins, at the age of more than 6 years, this loss is difficult for us, because the circumstances were so drastic. Healthy and was so by disaster, taken our son has entered eternity.
We are especially comforted by the promises of the covenant, and by the truth that the hand of God is over all, and nothing happens by accident. The Lord, then, makes us find comfort in Ps. 145: 6. Once again we wish to thank friends and acquaintances and everything for the many expressions of sympathy. Mr. and Mrs. E. Dijkshuizen.

In another article:
Clayton Balkema shot a tipsy bird lying on the road: the Bullet appeared to jump off on a stone or how it went is difficult to say, but little Freddie Dykuizen was hit and the bullet went through his abdomen and through his leg. The little boy was taken to Orange City and the doctors soon saw the accident dark. The shock left the child very weak and required surgery. The child therefore succumbed the following day.
Monday the funeral took place with great interest; the children of the public school attended the funeral. A very sad, and poignant history. The Sympathy is with the Sorrowful Parents.
