From a family report on line (by others) Edward John De Groot born 16 Aug 1899 Sioux Center, died 9 Jun 1975 Luverne MN, he married Jessie Bouma 2 Jun 1921 Sioux County IA. Jessie Bouma was born 1901 Garfield New Jersy died 5 July 1924 Hull IA, daughter of Sybren Ruurds Bouma and Bregtje Siedses Schilstra. They had a son Clarence C. De Groot 1923-1999.

In Hull died Mrs. Ed De Groot aged 23 years and in months as a result of an abscess in the brain. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Bouma from Orange City. She is survived by her husband, a son of our fellow citizen, Mr. C. De Groot and a 14 month old baby. The funeral took place on Tuesday in Hul van from the Chr Ref Church under the direction of Rev. W. P. Van Wyk of Orange City, due to the absence of Rev. Weerslag.
