Her death record in Lyon County IA lists Annigie Mulder, husband Derk Fikse, she was born May 21, 1852 Her parents were Ben Mulder and Gertrude Van Drue, her clothes caught fire in kindling a fire in the kitchen stove.

At Steen happened last week a sad accident. The old mother, Annigje Fikse, 72 years old, who makes her home with her son Berend, so prepare the store with petroleum. She fell and set the kerosene on fire. The old woman suddenly caught fire and suffered such terrible burns that she died several hours later.
Mrs. Fikse and her son live on a farm that belonged to L. Niessink and A. Te Paske.
The funeral took place Monday under the direction of Rev. G. Bosch van Steen, of whom the deceased's municipality was an employed and valued member. From Sioux Center to the funeral were: A. Te Paske, Mr. and Mrs. L. Niessink, John and Henry Niessink, Harm and G. J. Klein, Hattie and Henry vander Grift, and W. Eenkhoorn and son.

Aaltje died 5 Jun 1871, he then married Annegje Mulder, marriage was not found.

1910 census of Capel Sioux County IA list Dick Fikse age 81 born about 1829 Holland came in 1910 wife Anna Fikse age 58 born about 1852 Holland son Bernard 33, Henry 24, and Bertha 28.

Dirk died between 1910 and 1915 in Sioux County IA. 1915 Mrs. D. Fikse presumed a widow. Dirk’s exact death date and place was not found.
