Monday Mr. H. Wassink passed away at the age of 71 years. Funeral service was held Thursday. The deceased is survived by his widow and three children. Mrs. De Goei from Sioux Center and a son and daughter in the old Country.

Monday, February 25, a long and severe suffering died at the age of 71 years and almost 1 month, my beloved husband and children’s father, Hendrik Wassink. Gentle with Jexus Christ he passed away and we do not mourn as those who have no hope.
Since he is always of a cheerful nature and pleasant to deal with, we will miss him very much.
The Friends and neighbors are thanked very much for their sympathy and assistance to victims of the illness, and the funeral .. Widow H. Wassink and children.

Research Note: Found two marriages in the Netherlands for Hendrik Wassink son of Willem and Beertje van der horst Wassink. Suspect Maria VerHoef was third wife possibly married in USA.

The first marriage to Wesselina Margaretha Folme age 33. 12 May 1880 at Arnhem Geld. Neth.

Thr second marriage Hendrik Wassink age 37 to Wijntje Kleinveld 42 on 31 Oct 1889 Westervoort Arnhem Geld. Neth

1925 census of Iowa 1925 lists Marie Wassink 73 born 1852 Widowed, parents Hendrik Ver Hoef and Katrina Loosderecht. She was the mother of Katrina Mrs. Gysbert De Gooi.

Maria Verhoef was born 15 Nov 1851 Veenendaal Utrecht, to Hendrik Verhoef and Catharina van de Loosdrecht.

Prior to her marriage to Hendrik Wassink, Maria Verhoef married Johannes Van Beek in Netherlands Sept 21, 1878 in Renswoude Utrechts as Mrs. DeGoei was Katherine Van Beek born 14 Nov 1878 Veenendaal Gelders. Maria and Johannes had a daughter Hendrika Van Beek born 30 May 1883 Veenendaal . They had a daughter Gerritje Van Beek 29 Oct 1880 Vennendaal, Ede, Gelderland, another daughter Anthonia born 1 Mar 1886 Ede. A son Cornelis Van Beek was born Ede 4 Sep 1888.
