Find a Grave adds he was born in Marion County IA. His parents were Koenraad and Willemina De Jong, wife was Jannigje Pas 1858-1910 his children were Hubert, Conrad, Johanna Van Roekel, Bertha, Huberta De Kock, Mathilda Duven, Wilhelmina De Jong.

Yesterday, Tuesday passed away from Typhoid fever. Jacobus De Jong. Old Mr. De Jong had many friends here or elsewhere in Sioux County and was considered to be his own. He was a man of cheerful and amiable character. His wife died some years ago. His loss will be felt by his children and in all Maurice.
