Translated:
We received a message from Holland, Mich., That died there on March 14, in the morning at 7:45, at the age of 58 years, 11 months and 2 days. Mr. Teunis Prins, after having been ill for quite some time. Mr. T. Prins has the closest connection with the earliest history of the foundation and construction of Sioux Center. That was before that new Sioux Center still existed and us before the town was still incorporated, Mr. T. Prins in the Old Sioux Center, a store, which he bought from Mr. Henry Van Beek, and later he built one store in New Sioux Center, the first general store in Sioux Center, this is now the store of Balkema and Co. After selling this store to Hyink and Balkema in 1893, Mr. Prins after the departure of P. Eagan cashier and main shareholder of the Farmers & Savings Bank, after having been out of business for some time, Mr. Prince having been out of business for some time, Mr. Prins had for some time been the cashier of what is now the First National Bank, in which involvement Mr. Neal Mouw, the present banker, succeeded him. About 15 years ago Mr. Prins with his family to North Yakima. WA, and later from there to Holland Mich.
Ecclesiastically as well as socially, Mr. Prince a man of activity. We offer our condolences to the wife and children at this loss so painful for them.

Research Note: From a report on ancestry.com (by others) Teunis Harms Prins born 1858 died 1917 son of Herm Klasen Prins 1824-1869 and Alida De Frel 1823 – 1920, his wife wad Mensje Minnie Wayenberg 1887-1953, children listed were Herm Prins 1888, Grace Prins 1890, Jennie Prins 1894, Teunis Prins 1895, Peter Prins 1897 and Alida Prins 1899.
