It pleased the Lord of Years and Death to be very much awaited by our beloved mother, Mrs. Wm Goemans, born Johanna Elizabeth Konings, aged 78 years, 9 months and 13 days. Our comfort is that she has laid the glorious rest that remains for the children of God Hallelujah! On behalf of the children Wm. J. Goemans Adriaan Goemans with husbands and grandchildren

The old Mrs. Goemans is no more. Last Wednesday morning she was found dead in bed with no apparent fault to her. The day before she had visited the home of J. Punt where she had sat and talked with Mrs. Punt about her old homeland. In the evening she had gone upstairs at ten o'clock in the best mood to go to bed to give herself to bed. Then after Wednesday morning her daughter-in-law, Mrs. W. J. Goemans when just called her, she got no answer and going upstairs she found her dead in bed. From the position in which she lay, it could be seen that death had caused her to go limp from taking her away without her own noticing. She had not moved a member. The deceased had reached the age of more than 78 years. The funeral took place on Friday afternoon from the Chr. Ref. Church.
