Obituary: Translated:
Today, on the 12th of June, God has thought well in His inscrutable counsel to leave our side around our beloved daughter Anna Maria, aged 6 years and 6 months. This is the last time that God has taken away from us a tender sprout; and though this loss is very sorrowful to us., and the heart flows under it, may we rejoice that it was an act of the Covenant, and it now rests in peace with its Lord and Savior, and hope it there with her two brothers and sister. Carl Wissink and Mina Wissink - Scholten.

Note: From an ancestry.com report (done by others) Karel ‘Carl’ Wissink born 14 Feb 1867 Zutphen Gelderland Netherlands died 22 May 1956 Buried in Nassau Tsp Cemtery Alton IA. He was the son of Gerrit Wissink 1827-1908 and Hendrika Klein Kraanenberg 1831-1899. He was married to Mina Geertruida Scholten 25 Sep 1864 Zutphen Neth., died 20 Nov 1950 Alton IA. They had children: Gerrit Martinus Wissink 1892-1895, Bennie 1895-1900, Hendrieka Gerritje Wissink 1896-1901, Anna Maria Wissink 1899-1906, Dr. Gerrit Martinus Wissink 1903-1976 and Rev. Charles Bernard Wissink 1907-1999.

A series of tragic events took the lives of several of their young children.
