CYNTHIA OOSTRA
Mrs. Cynthia Oostra, age 61, of Hull, passed away Friday, May 20, at the Sioux Center community Hospital, after a long illness.
Cynthia was born December 9, 1921, at Hull, the daughter of John Vanden Oever and Kate Korthals Vanden Oever. On February 7, 1941, she married Ralph Oostra at Hull.
They farmed one mile north of Perkins, until the spring of 1981, when they moved into Hull.
Mrs. Oostra was a member of the Hope Christian Reformed Church of Hull.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Mrs. Bernard (Kathleen) Jacobsma of Luverne, Minnesota; two sons, Ronald of Sioux Center and Dean of Hull; 14 grandchildren; mother of Hull; and eight sisters, Mrs. Herman (Gertrude) Vander Vliet and Mrs. John (Jean) Vander Zwaae, both of Hull; Mrs. George (Henrietta) Wassenaar of Hills,Minnesota; Mrs. John (Catherine) De Wit
of Hull; Mrs. Anthony (Wilmina) Smit of Doon; Mrs. Donald (Joan) Boeve and Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn)Rens, both of Hills; and Mrs. Hilmore (Lavonne) Kroese of Hull.
Cynthia was preceded in death-by her father; grandson. Dwayne Jacobsma; and brother, John Mulder. Funeral services were held Monday. May 23 at Hope Christian REformed Church, with the Revs. Bernard VanEd and Henry J. Vermeer officiating. Interment followed at Hope Cemetery in Hull, under the direction of the Kraai Oolman Funeral Home of Hull.
