DENHARTOG, DENBESTE, GERRITSEN

John Den Hartog
John Den Hartog, 88, of Orange City, died January 11 at his residence. Services were January 15 at Calvary Christian Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Jack Gray officiating. Burial was at West Lawn Cemetery.
Den Hartog was born September 16. 1901, at Yakima Valley, Washington, the son of James and
Josena (Den Beste) Den Hartog. His family moved to Minnesota in 1909, and to Orange City in 1913. He married Alice Vanden Berg Gerritsen
December 11, 1946, at Orange City.
For 43 years, he was a partner in Den Hartog Brothers Garage, retiring in 1963.
He was a member of Calvary Christian Reformed Church.
Survivors are his wife; a daughter and son-in-law, Mina and Ralph Fear of Everly; a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Kay Gerritsen of Ogden, Utah; three brothers, Cornelius of
Orange City, Art of Bellgrade, Minnesota, and Elmer of Hawarden; a sister, Alyda Visser of Brooten, Minnesota, six grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; five step-greatgrandchildren;
and four step-greatgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, James and William.
