MELVIN DEN HARTOG
Melvin Den Hartog, 62, of Wichita, Kan., formerly of Rock Valley, died Wednesday in a hospital in Wichita after a long illness.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Porter Funeral Home in Rock Valley. The Rev. Gordon Bloemendaal officiated. Burial was in Valley View
Cemetery.
Mr. Den Hartog was born Jan. 12, 1922, at Flandreau, S.D. He moved with his family to Rock Valley in 1924 and graduated from Rock Valley High School in 1941. He worked in defense plants in Chicago, Albuquerque, N.M., Durango, Colo, and at Boeing Aircraft at Wichita, and retired in August, 1983.
Survivors include one son, David of New Haven, Conn.? his mother, Mrs. Gerturde Reit of Rock Valley; one brother, Dick of Wichita, and three
sisters, Mrs. Emma Louise Crouse of Ferndale, Mich,, Mrs. Clarence (Jean) Heidebrink of Hull and Mrs. Dolly Rehberg of Detroit, Mich.
