From the Alton Democrat of March 1, 1902 Orange City news.
Dr. John Heeren died at the home of his aunt Mrs. D. H. Schalekamp in this city Sunday of consumption at the age of twenty-seven. Deceased
was the only child of Rev. and Mrs. Heeren and was born in India where they were missionaries. When he was five years old his parents died from disease contracted in the missionfield.
The deceased was raised and educated by his aunt and was enjoying a flourishing medical practice at Marinette Wisconsin up to a few months ago when he went to New Mexico for his health only to come home nearer death's door.
