Elizabeth Johanna Rysdam was born 28 Jan 1836 Weesp Noord Holland Netherlands and died 18 Jan 1914 West Branch Tsp Sioux Center IA Her parents were Arie Rysdam / Rijsdam born Kamerik, Woerden, Utrecht, Netherlands died 1 Oct 1867 Amsterdam, Hancock, IA and Geertruij ‘Gertrude’ van Maanen born 25 May 1802 Weesp, Noord Holland Netherlands and died 16 Apr 1870 Sioux County IA. After the death of Adrian Vanden Berge, on 29 Oct 1900 Elizabeth Rysdam Vanden Berge married Rev. Dires Mouw.

Their children were Elizabeth Johanna Hillmer 1879-1952, Adrian Machiel Van Steenbergen 1881-1922, Gerrit Van Steenbergen 1883, John Van Steenbergen 1885-1967 and William Van Steenbergen 1887.
4. John Vanden Berge born 3 Mar 1862 Marion County IA died 27 Oct 1883 Sioux County IA. The Sioux County Herald of Nov 1, 1883 It is our duty this week to chronicle the death of a son of Adriaan van den Berge of Alton, aged 21 years. He died of Typhoid fever last Saturday and was buried Monday. The bereaved parents have the sympathy of the entire community.

A. M. Vanden Berge one of the first settlers of Sioux county, died at his home in the north part of town early last Friday morning at the age of sixty-live. Mr. Vanden Berge was one of those who came from Pella, about twenty-three years ago. He settled on a farm about a mile west of
Alton, where he lived until about twelve years ago when he removed to Harrison, S. D. In 1896 he returned to Sioux county settling in Sioux Center. Adrian, as he was called by his friends, leaves a host of friends to mourn his departure and he was much esteemed by all who knew him.

Original obituary was in Dutch, Translated it is believed to state:
Mrs. Rev. D. Mouw Died of pneumonia today.
It was her 78th birthday just. Mrs. Mouw was born in Utrecht, Netherlands, in 1836 and came to Pella, Iowa, 60 years ago, in 1854 .- The same year she was in marriage associated with Mr.. A. M. van den Berge. They came to Sioux County in 1870 and moved to Dakota in 1885. In the autumn in 1894 they came back here. Mr. Van der Berge died in 1896(1897). In 1900 joined in marriage with the Reverend. D, Mouw. From her first marriage children are living, Mrs.. W. van Steenbergen lives here.
The funeral will Friday held at half past one

(This was the third wife of Rev. Dries Mouw. She was Elizabeth Rysdam, Vanden Berge, Mouw. Her first marriage was with Adriannus Michiel Vanden Berge 1856 Marion Co. IA , they lived in South Dakota and Nassau Sioux county for some time. She came with her parents Apr 17, 1948 to Pella IA. She was 63 years of age in October 29, of 1900 when she married Rev. Dries Mouw. On the marriage record her parents were listed as Arie Rysdam (Rijsdam) and Gertrude VanManen. Children found on ancestry.com were Nellie 1856-1914, Willemina Mrs. W. VanSteenbergen 1859-1942, John 1862-, Arie 1865-1944, James 1870, Elizabeth 1874-1947. Adriannus Vanden Berge born 1 Jan 1833 Terneuzen, Neth died 4 May 1897 Sioux Center IA. Both are assumed buried in the Sioux Center Cemetery, however, no headstone exists in Sioux county cemetery Index of headstones.These pictures were taken from a family report on ancestry.com
