Junith A. Conrad - Age 78

Junith Arlene Conrad was born on October 5, 1934 to Chester and Grace (Wilson) Welch in Omaha, Nebraska. She attended grade school and North High School in Omaha.

She was united in marriage to David Conrad. There were eight children born to them: David Ray, Vickie, Robin, Mickey, Jeffrey, April Dawn, Brian, and Sherry.

In addition to being a homemaker and a mother and keeping up with her children’s activities, Junith worked as a sales clerk at Richmond Gordman’s in Omaha and at the Immanuel Nursing Home in Omaha.

Junith and David managed the Ponderosa Village mobile home park in Omaha before moving to Harlan, Iowa, in 1996 to enjoy their retirement.

After David’s death in April of 2006, Junith continued living in Harlan until her death on Sunday, February 3, 2013. She had attained the age of seventy-eight years, three months, and twenty-nine days. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John and sisters: Myra, Delores, Verena, Donna, and Wyona.

She is survived by her children: David Conrad and his wife Marchelle of Omaha, Nebraska, Vickie Conrad of Nebraska, Robin Conrad and her fiancé Mark Kelly of Fremont, Nebraska, Mickey Shreve and Ralph Shreve of Harlan, Iowa, Jeffrey Conrad and his wife Sheila of Harlan, April Dawn Conrad of Omaha, Brian Conrad and his wife Jody of Omaha, and Sherry and her husband Larry Queen of Des Moines, Iowa; twenty-three grandchildren; and brother Clyde Welch of Harlan; other family members and friends.

Pastor Dan Hawn officiated the 3:00 PM private graveside service on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha, Nebraska. Serving as casket bearers were Ralph M. Shreve, Randall L. Price, Jr., Michael C. Shreve, David Keith Conrad, Jeremiah D. Conrad, and Brian Keith Conrad.
