Funeral services: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, Immanuel Lutheran Church, Harlan, IA; Pastor Heather Ploen officiated. Burial was in the Harlan Cemetery in Harlan, IA.

Survived by: Wife of 49 years, Judy Juhler of Harlan, IA; son, Greg Juhler of Omaha, NE; daughters, Cynthia Juhler (and spouse, Jeff Haren), and Jennifer Juhler (and spouse, Pat Byrnes), both of Ankeny, IA; brothers, Arnold (spouse, Ellen) Juhler of Sioux Falls, SD, and Howard Juhler of Marne, IA; sister, Sharon Juhler of Des Moines, IA; grandchildren, Naoma Byrnes, Theia Byrnes, and Emma Haren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends

Predeceased by: Parents, Andrew Petersen and Naoma Myrle (nee McCain) Juhler; niece, Patricia Juhler

Education: attended country school and graduated from Elk Horn (IA) High School, where he played baseball and basketball, Class of 1949; attended Iowa State College in Ames, IA, graduating in 1959 with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

Marriage: Judith Genevra Rock, June 16, 1956, First Methodist Church, Atlantic, IA

Employment: After graduating in 1959, Orville began his practice at the Harlan (IA) Veterinary Clinic. In 1968, Orville began working for the Squealer Feed Company as a veterinary consultant; he continued working for them until the company was sold in 1989.

Hobbies/Interests: Member, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Atlantic, IA until he moved to Harlan and became a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Member of Beta Sigma Psi; member, the Harlan Community School Board; Member, Immanuel Lutheran Church council; member, American Veterinary Medical Association, and other community organizations. Orville enjoyed flying, fishing, hunting, and working with his hands.
