Employment: worked as a switchboard operator, egg candler, and waitress; for many years she worked at the Baptist Memorial Home (Elm Crest Retirement Community) in Harlan, IA. She retired in 1975.

Hobbies/Interests: was a fiercely independent woman who lived for and loved spending time with her family; she enjoyed reading, cooking, and working crossword puzzles.
