Marriage: Helen Glen Algren (who was the school teacher for Cuppy’s Grove and was boarding with his parents when they met); Oct. 10, 1944; Miami, FL
Employment: After high school graduation, he worked as a welder in the shipyards; after his military service, farmed with spouse at his family farm southeast of Harlan, IA; then worked construction for G. A. Findley, Harlan, IA; in early 1970s, began working as a State Technician for the Soil Conservation Service
Hobbies/Interests: Member, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Jacksonville, IA; member, Helmer Reyelt American Legion Post #150 (had served as Commander for 4 years); volunteered service as a Big Brother; provided fresh produce to the nursing home and, with spouse, took baked goods to the organization of Concerned; enjoyed china painting, gardening, baking, and spending time with his family.
