There is no Sarah Ellen Van Winkle Abernathy listed in Ringgold County, Iowa gravestone recordings. There is, however, a Sarah Van Winkle
(1866--1934) and a William Van Winkle (1857--1935) listed as buried in Mt. Zion cemetery. If you are coming to Ringgold county, I suggest that you stop by the Mount Ayr Public Library. (Open Monday thru Friday 1:30 to 5 p.m.) In the basement genealogy/historical room there is a brochure of Mt. Zion cemetery which includes a description and a cemetery map on the first page.
There should be a map with locations of Ringgold county cemeteries on the south wall of the room.
The cemetery is located in SE 1/4 Section 16, township 67, Range 28 of Riley township. You can find plat maps in this basement room of the library as well that can help you get within general range of the cemetery.
According to my information these people are buried in the north central part of the cemetery.
