Tindle, Marilyn Eloise Been -
Marilyn Eloise (Been) Tindle passed away on March 4, 1999 in the Bedford Nursing Home where she was a resident for two years with a long time illness.
Marilyn was born on November 2, 1923 to Harley and Leona Been in Tingley, Iowa where she was a resident for twenty years.
She was a graduate of Tingley High School and Thompson's School of Beauty.
On July 2, 1944 she was united in marriage with Max Tindle. The wedding took place in the Methodist Church in Tingley, hometown of Marilyn. Two daughters were born to this marriage, Candace Lynn and Penny Sue.
The Tindles moved from Des Moines to Diagonal, with Max purchasing the local barber shop in December of 1947. Marilyn then opened her own beauty shop in January of 1949.
Mrs. Tindle was preceded in death by her husband, Max and a grandson, Mark Baker and her parents, Harley and Leona Been.
She is survived by her daughter, Candace Baker, granddaughter Chevon Baker, friend Randy Constant and great granddaughter, Sarah K. Constant of Council Bluffs,daughter, Penny and her husband, Sam Adams, grandson, Mathew and granddaughter, Jamie Sue of Bedford, IA. Also surviving are four brothers, four sisters, sister-in-law and their spouses: Mark and Lillian Been of Florida; Mac and Nila Been of Kansas; Milo and Naomi Been, Merle and Doris Been, Margaret Dutton, Maudeene and Bud Swinehart, all from Iowa; Marrabell and Earl Schultz of Oregon; Mardell and Don Donner of Georgia; Donna Johnson of Iowa, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Services were held on Saturday, March 6, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home in Mt. Ayr, Iowa with the Rev. Eydie Stephens officiating.
Music was provided by Nancy Sackett, Mary Trullinger, and Margaret Bickers.
Casketbearers were Joe Johnson, Jim Johnson, Jay Johnson, Dan Swinehart, Rod Been, and Randy Constant.
Interment was in the Rising Sun Cemetery at Diagonal, Iowa.
