Harvey, Jean Marie Worthington -
Jean Marie Harvey was born November 15, 1916 at Maloy, Iowa to Eddie and Anna (Baxter) Worthington.
Jean was united in marriage to Forrest "Pete" Harvey on June 11, 1938. To this union two children were born: Sanford and Kathleen. Together they famed near Clearfield and raised their children in a loving and caring environment.
Jean enjoyed her home and was not one to venture too far from the farm. She always maintained and cared for her garden even after she and Pete moved into Lenox in 1987. Jean enjoyed cooking and sharing meals with her family. Jean was very proud of her family and enjoyed updating people she knew with pictures of them. Jean loved poetry and she read and loved her Bible, being able to quote scripture from it.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Clearfield.
Jean fought a strong and courageous battle with cancer and went home to be with her Lord on September 29, 1998 at the age of 81 years.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Joe Winfree and three sisters, Madge Nelson, Pauline Wise and Edwilda Coursey.
Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory is her husband, Forrest "Pete" Harvey of Lenox, her son Sanford Harvey and his wife, Madeleine of Orange, VA and her daughter Kathleen Callison and her husband, George of Creston, IA, four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, one great granddaughter and three step great grandchildren, two sisters, Mildred Saville of Mount Ayr and Gail Rothmeyer of Dallas, TX, as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held on Friday, October 2, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield, IA with the Rev. Alan Rusk and Rev. Tim Maxa officiating.
Music was provided by Barb Scott and Kathy Nelson.
Casketbearers were Darin Winfree, Michael Harvey, Rick Callison, Christopher Harvey, Galen Modlin, and James Saville.
Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, IA.
Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
