Campbell, Bertha Lois Keller -
Benjamin Adams Keller and Sara Elda Kopp Keller were joyous on July 18, 1906 when their first child, Bertha Lois was born.
Bertha spent her childhood on the family farm in Grant Township, Ringgold County, Iowa.
She graduated from Clearfield High School. After attending teacher's college and while teaching at country school a young gentleman by the name of Joseph Martin Campbell came courting. They were married November 11, 1926.
Bertha and Joe were blessed with 10 children: Edith Louise, Dale Martin, Marvin Eugene, Melvin Jay, Clyde Milton, Donna Jean, Ronald Clean, Robert Lee, Paul Adam, and Zelda Mae.
Bertha was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of Ringgold and Taylor counties. She lived in Lenox before moving to Clearfield two years ago. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Legion Auxiliary in Clearfield.
Bertha is survived by nine children, Edith of Lorimor, IA; Dale of Clearfield; Marvin of Lorimor, IA; Melvin (wife Alice) of Glendale, AZ; Clyde (wife Nancy) of San Paleo, CA; Donna (husband Glenn) of Santa Fe, New Mexico; Ron (wife Carolyn) of Bellaire, TX; Bob of Denver, CO, and Zelda (husband Dave) of Lenox, IA.
Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Keller of Council Bluffs, many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Paul Adam; sister Lola Wahl; and brother Rolley Keller.
Funeral services were held Saturday, April 4, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Clearfield with the Rev. Alan Rusk officiating.
Music was provided by Patty Parrish, Mike Haidsiak, Jill Breach, and Lois Decker.
Casketbearers were Bertha's grandsons. Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Larson, Sherman Bathurst, Eldon Dillenburg, Larry Brammer, Sam Bathurst, John Duey, Greg Larson, Lewis Larson, and Howard Whittington.
Interment was in the Clearfield Cemetery at Clearfield, IA.
Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
