Bruner, Ava C Greer -
Ava Bruner was born near Conway, Iowa April 25, 1903, to Charles and Cassie Larison Greer and passed away February 6, 1997 at the Clearview Home in Clearfield, Iowa. She attended country school and later worked as a hired girl in many homes.
On January 24, 1923, she was united in marriage to Frederick A. Bruner at her parents home near Conway. She lived her entire life in Taylor county. To this union were born two daughters; Dorothy Parrish and Darlene Larsen.
She was a member of the Clearfield United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, and a past member of the Greenwood Ladies Aid and the P.F.F. Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Edna Greer, Elsie Miller, her twin sister Eva Monk, Goldie Wood and a brother Perle Greer, sons-in-law Richard Larsen and Robert Parrish, nine brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Fred, daughters Dorothy and Darlene, 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, 6 sisters-in-law, 1 brother-in-law, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 8, 1997, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Alan Rusk officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Jean
Huffman and Mrs. Cathy Nelson. Casketbearers were Leo Sobotka, Darrell Monk, John Lyddon, Kenny Nelson, Jack Gourley, and Phil Henderson. Interment was at the Clearfield Cemetery.
Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home was in charge of the funeral service.
