OBITUARY ~ MARY ELIZABETH (WAUGH) SHEUMAKER

Mary Elizabeth WAUGH was born April 9, 1919, in Black Duck, Minn., the daughter of Bert M. WAUGH and Alice Grace MATHENY WAUGH. She departed this life December 22, 1979, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 60 years, eight months and 13 days.

Her father was a member of the pioneer WAUGH family in Middle Fork twonship, Ringgold county, Iowa. Mary lived in Mount Ayr for several years before and during World War II and was employed in the AAA (now ASCS) office there.

She was married Nov. 16, 1944, to Roy SHEUMAKER, Jr., son of Roy and Goldia SHEUMAKER. After the war they made their home in Columbus, Ohio. They were the parents of four children, Orin, Anita (Mrs. Jim COX), Keith and Gregg, of Columbus, all of whom survive her along with three daughters-in-law, a son-in-law and four grandchildren. She is also survived by her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Katherine ZUCKER of Cleveland and Mrs. Jim DABNEY of Columbus, and a brother, Lewis WAUGH, of Columbus.

She was a member of McKendree United Methodist church where she and her family had been active for many years. She was a member of the National Association of Independent Businesses. She had operated the SHEUMAKER Secretarial Service for twenty years.

Services were held Dec. 26 in the McKendree church with interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estates cemetery. A memorial was established for the McKendree church.
