OBITUARY - HUGH LYLE SHAW

H. Lyle SHAW was born Feb. 21, 1914 at Redding, Iowa. His parents were Daniel SHAW and Mary E. JENNINGS. He was educated in the Redding Consolidated School where he graduated in 1932.

On Jan. 5, 1935 he was married to Leona F. BISHOP at Mount Ayr. The couple had two sons - Larry Gene SHAW and Garry Stephen SHAW. They lived in Redding until 1958 when they moved to West Liberty. Most recently they resided in Tama, Iowa. He was a retired truck driver.

He passed away May 6, 1980 at his home in Tama following a brief illness of cancer.

He was preceded in death by his parents , three brothers - Jack, Vernice, James; and one sister, Reva.

Survivors include his wife, Leona, of Tama; two sons - Larry and Steve of West Liberty; five granddaughters - Vicky, Julie and Chris SHAW of Clear Lake; and Laurie and Jennifer SHAW of West Liberty; two brothers - Howard of West Liberty and Marion of Clutier; two sisters - Beryle KNAPP and Dorothy FREEL of Redding and several nieces and nephews.

He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Committal services were held at the Redding Cemetery at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 1980 conducted by Pastor Milt HENDERSON of the Redding United Methodist Church.

A visitation was held at the Harrison Funeral Home in Tama from 4 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. This funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
