Reginald Noble killed in crash

Reginald NOBLE, 50, was killed Wednesday, December 13, in a van-car collision in Shreveort, La. He was a former resident of the Mount Ayr vicinity, had gone through school here and was in the United States air force. In recent years he was a civilian who worked in a cycle and gun shop in Shreveport.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 18, by Rev. Paul NIESS at Rhoades-Wilson Funeral Home in Mount Ayr and burial was in the Lamoni cemetery.

NOBLE is survived by his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Norman NOBLE of Mount Ayr; a 14-year-old son, David; and four brothers - Gary, Derald and Rollin NOBLE of Mount Ayr and Jerald NOBLE of Tabor. David has come to Mount Ayr to make his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Rollin NOBLE, and their son, Jerry. Mr. NOBLE was preceded in death by his wife.

OBITUARY - REGINALD NOBLE

Reginald Eugene NOBLE, son of Norman Reginald and Edna Belle NOBLE, was born March 18, 1928 on a farm in southern Iowa and died December 13, 1978 in a Shreveport, La. traffic accident at the age of 50 years, eight months and 26 days.

He grew up and attended the rural schools in Riley and Poe townships and Mount Ayr high school. At an early age he entered the United States air force. He served 14 years and retired as a staff sergeant.

On July 1, 1950 he was united in marriage to Eula Cathrine (Cathie) OFFUTT. In the later years of this marriage, a son, David Wayne, was adopted.

He was an air force veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Green Acres Baptist Church at Bossier City, La., a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Louisiana Locksmith Assocation and the National Locksmith Association.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Cathie. Those left to mourn his passing and cherish a precious memory are his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Norman R. NOBLE of Mount Ayr, Iowa; a son, David Wayne NOBLE of Bossier City, La.; four brothers -- Rollin, Gary and Derald NOBLE, all of Mount Ayr, Iowa and Gerald NOBLE of Tabor, Iowa; four sisters-in-law -- Joan, Judy, Beverly and Glenda; four nieces and five nephews; his fiancee, Sue GRIFFITT of Bossier City; a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. . . .
