OBITUARY - WILLIAM DOBSON

William Dobson passed away at 4:00 o'clock Feb 22, 1940, at the home of his daughter-in-law Mrs. Nettie Dobson, at the age of 90 years, 1 month and 13 days.

Mr. Dobson was born Jan. 9, 1850 in Pittsburg, Pa. At the age of six, he moved with his parents to Decatur, Ia., where he resided until 1910, when he moved to Waubay vicinity with his son and family where he spent the remainder of his life.

In 1877 he was united in marriage to Wilhelmina Hukill. To them were born three children: Addie who died in infancy, Mrs. William McConnell who passed away in 1904, and John Dobson who passed away Jan. 25, 1939.

His wife preceded him in death in 1902.

Besides his daughter-in-law, he leaves to mourn his passing ten grand children and ten great grand children. A brother, Frank Dobson and two sisters Caroline Crees of Grand River, Ia.; and Catherine Brown of Ellston, Ia.

Funeral services were held at the Congregational church Sunday afternoon with Rev. Thos. Newell officiating. Elton Dobson accompanied the remains on the flyer to Ellston, Ia., for burial. Mrs. Marvin Huber and Shirley Bosland sang, and Mrs. G. C. Mogen presided at the piano. Pallbearers were Elza, Elton, John Jr., and Walter Dobson, Eddie Redetzke and Harold Tesch.
