Mrs. Mary Jane HATHAWAY of Winterset, Iowa a Madison county resident for 40 years, died Saturday, Oct 16 at Madison Manor. She was 79 years of age.
Mrs. Hathaway was a native of Marysville, N.Y., where she was born Feb. 3, 1892, a daughter of George and Martha Rowena MACK CARVEY. She was married in 1910 to Eljay G. HATHAWAY at Jamestown, N.Y. Eljay passed away March 14, 1946.
She was a member of the St. Charles Presbyterian church.
Mary Jane was the mother of 12 children: Dorothy Isobel, Ruth Elizabeth, Edith Lucille, Murray Lester, Harold Ralph, Harlin George, Agnes Althea, Rosetta Louise, Lily Flo, Sylvia Maude, Charles Omar and Patricia Ann.
She also leaves behind 39 grand-children and 44 great-grand-children.
Burial was made at Tingley, Iowa, Ringgold County.
