OBITUARY - SCOTT EUGENE NELSON

Scott Eugene NELSON, son Richard E. and Shirley J. Gaylean NELSON, was born August 15, 1960, in Galesburg, Illinois. He passed away at his residence [Monroe, Iowa] on Tuesday, November 8, 2005.

On September 10, 1981, Scott was united in marriage with Brenda FRANK at the Lutheran Church in Galesburg, Illinois. To this union three sons were born: Rick, Michael, and Nathan. The family lived in Benton, Iowa, and Mount Ayr, Iowa, prior to moving to the Monroe area in 1998.

Scott enjoyed raising cattle, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his sons. He was a member of the Berean Baptist Church in Pella, Iowa. He had been a member of the Marion County 4-H, and was FFA president while in high school. He had worked for H&R Block in Newton for nearly ten years. He was currently working in management at a hog confinement company where he had been employed for ten years.

Scott is survived by his wife, Brenda; his three sons: Rick NELSON of Monroe, Michael NELSON of Monroe, and Nathan NELSON of Pella; his father: Richard NELSON and step-mother, Lori of Sherman, Illinois; his mother, Shirley NELSON of Pukaloni Island, Hawaii; one brother, Russell NELSON of Rio, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Editha NELSON-SCHWARTZKOPH of Princeton, Missouri.

Memories of Scott will always be cherished by his family and friends.
