OBITUARY - ARDITH ELAINE "ARDIE" WINEMILLER

Ardith Elaine WINEMILLER passed away on March 3, 2009 surrounded by family at her home in Mt. Ayr, after a long battle with cancer. All her family and friends knew her better as Ardie.

Ardie was born January 26, 1942 to Rev. I. G. and Vera (MILLER) WILKINS in Tekoa, Washington. Ardie’s family moved back to Iowa in 1944 where her dad pastored several churches in the state. Ardie graduated from high school while living in Blockton, Iowa. She was united in marriage on June 14, 1959 to William Loren WINEMILLER and together they made their home in Mount Ayr, Iowa. They were blessed with 3 children, Kevin, Lori Anne and Craig.

Ardie was a member of the United Methodist Church and the UMW, as well, was a member on a bowling team here with her crew. She worked at several places here in town including Ben Franklin store, Hy-Vee, Dr. MITCHELL's Office and the Bank where she was the Director of the V.I.C. Club, where she guided and took several trips as well as on her own even after leaving the bank where she worked for several years. She had all kinds of followers that traveled along with her throughout the state as well as different places as far as Alaska and Hawaii, just to mention a few. The Clearview Estates isn’t the same place without Ardie’s smiling face and jovial mood, she enjoyed her time with tenants and working with the staff. She also brightend the employees and patrons at Jamie’s Coffeemill, where she also had been known to hang out!

Some of her favorite pastimes included bowling, collecting shot glasses from everywhere, and of course was the county’s biggest sports fan. She absolutely loved going to and following her kids and grandkids throughout any and all of their ballgames and meets, wherever they were held. It didn’t matter who was playing or where, she seldom missed a game she cheered for each and everyone just the same. She loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her cat Tommy and her two dogs Brandi and Zoey, as well as all the other farm animals including her cow Tinkerbelle.

Ardie was preceeded in death by her daddy Irvin Grover WILKINS, (I.G.) whom she was looking forward to see again.

Left to cherish her wonderful memories are her Husband, Loren WINEMILLER, sons, Kevin WINEMILLER, Craig and Susan (DODGE) WINEMILLER and daughter Lori Anne and husband Mike WILSON. Grandchildren include Devin and Dillon WINEMILLER, Tucker and Sara WINEMILLER, Ali ELTOUKHY, Taylor and Hunter WILSON. Other surviving family members include mother Vera WILKINS of Mt. Ayr, one sister, Arlene and Ward BONNETT of Bussey, Iowa, two brothers Harold and Jan WILKINS of West Des Moines, Iowa, and Len and Barbie WILKINS of Randolph, Iowa. One uncle, Merlin and Margaret WILKINS of Creston, Iowa, as well as a host of family and all kinds of friends.

Ardie WINEMILLER has touched so many lives in her 67 years and she will be greatly missed by all friends and all family members, her memories we cherish and our hearts are touched forever, we sadly miss you but will never forget you, ever!
