OBITUARY.

Mrs. Delila (sic) TODD, whose maiden name was JARVIS, was born in Hocking county, Ohio, May 20th, 1859 and removed with her parents to Ringgold county, Iowa, in 1872.

In 1873, she joined the Methodist church under the ministry of Rev. J. W. BOTT. She was united in marriage in 1882, with Henry TODD and a little later on, connected herself with the United Presbyterian church, in the hope of leading her husband into a Christian life. He was convereted and joined the M. E. church in 1886, and she about the same time returned to what had been her first church home, a useful, consistent and highly respected christian until the time of her death.

She was an affectionate wife, a kind mother, and a warm friend. During her long continued sickness, she suffered greatly, but she looked to him who sees us in our distress, and whose ear is open to the righteous. She asked for patience to bear her affliction to the end, and said she would "be waiting at the gate to meet the loved ones." A husband and three children mourn their great loss.

Her death was peaceful and triumphant. She passed from labor to reward, from suffering to glory, June 27th, 1891. The funeral services were held the following Monday, June 29th at her late home, and were conducted at the request, by her former pastor, Rev. Wm. B. THOMPSON.

NOTE: Delilah (JARVIS) TODD was 32 years and 29 days at the time of her death. She was interred at Bethel Cemetery near Diagonal, Ringgold County, Iowa.
