OBITUARY - HELEN F. (LAIRD) TISDEL, 95

August 3, 1910 - February 21, 2006

TRIBUTE: Helen F. TISDEL was born at Mount Ayr, Iowa, the daughter of the late Elza A. and Jennie (GRINDROD) LAIRD.

On June 7, 1936, she married Peres "Bill" TISDELL in Kellerton, Iowa. He died in 1951.

Mrs. TISDEL managed the food services at the University of Northern Colorado for many years. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Greeley, the Knife and Fork Club and the Greeley Woman's Club. She enjoyed her family, travel, her church work, gardening and antique collecting and was an excellent tailor and seamstress.

Mrs. TISDEL was very proud of having climbed the Great Wall of China in 1982 and Ayer's Rock in Australia in 1973.

She died Tuesday, February 21, at Life Care Center of Greeley.

Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Weston SANDLE of Dunedin, New Zealand; her daughter-in-law, Frances TISDEL of Ouray; her grandchildren, Alison UPCHURCH of Wellington, New Zealand, Anthony SANDLE of Cologne, Germany, Samantha WRIGHT of Silverton and Benjamin TISDEL of Sydney, Australia; six great-grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Glatis LAIRD of Mesa, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by a son, Richard, in 1999.

Services: Celebration of her life was February 26 at Adamson Memorial Downtown Chapel.

Memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association in care of Adamson, 827 5th St., Greeley, CO 80631.
