Mr. STUBBS never made a public profession of religion but was a firm believer in a supreme being and lived an upright honorable life.

The short funeral services were conducted by A. A. Burchett, who, by former request of deceased, consented to reading chapters from Psalms, had prayer and singing of two or three hymns, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Gregg Cemetery [Doyle Township, Clarke County, Iowa].

Mary C. (McGIRR), wife of Wm. P. STUBBS, was born May 9th, 1830.

Leaving a large circle of friends and relatives to mourn her loss, Sister STUBBS died on the 53rd anniversary of this marriage. Her remains were laid by the side of her husband who died only two days before.
