JAMES LEE STONE

James Lee STONE was born April 2, 1937 to Howard A. & Veda "Merle" STONE in Mount Ayr, Iowa. James departed this life in Des Moines, Iowa at the V.A. Hospital on December 13, 2007 at 3:00 A.M.

James attended Mount Ayr, Omaha, and Iowa City schools. James then joined the Army in 1954. James was married to Kathryn Kay ADKISSON on April 25, 1959. They had four children; Pamela K. STONE born June 5, 1960, Earl L. STONE born July 23, 1961, Hazel A. STONE born July 12, 1962, and Max E. STONE born February 5, 1964.

James was preceded in death by his parents Howard & Veda "Merle" STONE; daughter Pamela and son Earl.

James is survived by his wife Kathryn STONE; daughter and son-in-law Hazel & Greg POWELL and his son and daughter-in-law Max and Jodee STONE; grandchildren Courtney and Kaylee STONE and Ashley and Jarad DETTMANN; cousins Philip and Milton STONE.

James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. James will always be remembered for his stories and jokes. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Services were held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 1:30 a.m. from Wilson-Watson & Armstrong Funeral Home, Mount Ayr, Iowa.
