OBITUARY - ROSA BELLE STEPHENS.

Rosa Belle BAUM, daughter of George and Mary BAUM, was born at Bourneville, Ohio, January 15, 1856. She passed from this life February 21, 1932, aged 76 years, one month and six days.

On January 11, 1877, she was united in marriage with Stacy C. STEPHENS, of Green county, Pennsylvania, who preceded her in death just four months and four days. They immediately came west and established a home in Rice township, where they have lived continually for the last fifty-four years.

There were nine children born to bless the home, three of whom died in infancy. Those left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother are her six children - George A. STEPHENS of Clearfield, Iowa, Mrs. Elnettie ROBERTS of Kellerton, Iowa, Mrs. Ella RICHARDSON of Benton, Iowa, Mrs. Anna DEIBERT of St. Joseph, Mo., T. J. and Clarence STEPHENS of Benton, Iowa. There are also 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, George William and James Eugene CROCKETT, of Dekalb, Mo. Also two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jane McCRACKIN of Kellerton, Iowa, and Mrs. Kate HILL of Bourneville, Ohio; one brother, Edward BAUM of Bainbridge, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stephens became a christian in early life, uniting with the Presbyterian church and after coming to Iowa united with the Baptist church of Delphos, of which she was a member at the time of her death. She was a home loving wife and mother and never happier than when surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Her death marks the passing of a most devoted and loving mother of which the children all rise and call her blessed.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Mount Ayr, Iowa, Tuesday, February 23, at 10 a.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. J. HAMILTON, pastor of the Mount Ayr Baptist church. Interment was at the Redding cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.

For the kindness of neighbors and friends during the illness and at the death and funeral of our mother we are profoundly grateful.

- THE CHILDREN.
