NOTICE of DEATH - LLOYD STEPHENS

Lloyd STEPHENS, 86, of Mount Ayr died August 22, 2005, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr. Services are pending at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr.

OBITUARY - LLOYD ERNEST STEPHENS

Lloyd STEPHENS, 86, of Mount Ayr died August 22, 2005, at Ringgold County Hospital in Mount Ayr.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 25, at the United Baptist-Presbyterian Church in Mount Ayr. The Rev. Lowell HOUTS will officiate the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Mount Ayr. There is open visitation until 8 p.m. today at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. Memorials may be directed to the United Baptist-Presbyterian Church.

Mr. STEPHENS, son of Lola Maude (SPENCER) and Lloyd Ernest STEPHENS, was born April 24, 1919, near Delphos in Ringgold County. He graduated from Delphos High School in 1937. On June 1, 1943, he married Mary M. TRIMBLE in Kellerton. He was a farmer. He was a member of the United Baptist-Presbyterian Church and Ringgold County Farm Bureau. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mary STEPHENS of Mount Ayr; four children, Richard (wife Linda) STEPHENS of Maryville, Mo., Dennis (wife Donna) STEPHENS of Mount Ayr, Susan STEPHENS and Sandra STEPHENS, both of Lees Summit, Mo.; brother W.A. (wife Gaylene) STEPHENS of Winterset; sister Clarice MINNICK of Creston; five grandchildren, Ernie (wife Jill) STEPHENS, Jennifer (husband Boyd) BURN, Brenda (husband Clifford) MORRIS, Tim (wife Marie) STEPHENS and Debbie STEPHENS; four great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Stephen BURN, Ella Morris and Harrison Stephens; brother-in-law LeRoy "Butch" Trimble of Mount Ayr; and two sisters-in-law Doris (husband Paul) HANNON of Mount Ayr and Ruby STEPHENS of Shannon City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Muriel STEPHENS, and five brothers, Spencer, Sherrill, Joe, John and Earl STEPHENS.
