The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1932

DEATH of DELORIS JEAN STEPHENS.

The community mourns with Mr. and Mrs. Ray STEPHENS, whose little six months' old daughter, Deloris Jean, was killed Saturday when the little one fell from the bed and who a few moments after being placed on the bed asleep was found hanging between the bed and the wall. A physician was at once summoned, but all efforts to restore consciousness proved futile.

Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at eleven o'clock at the Baptist church, being conducted by Rev. E. S. MENOHER, pastor of the Methodist church, and the little body was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery. The funeral was largely attended.

Deloris Jean, daughter of Ray and Lottie STEPHENS, was born January 25, 1932, at Mount Ayr, Iowa, and was called to her heavenly home July 30, 1932, age six months and five days. During her brief stay she was always bright and happy with a smile for everyone.

She leaves to mourn her loss the father and mother, two sisters, Majel and Marguerite, and two brothers, Donald and John Vernon; two grandmothers, aunts and uncles and cousins who will miss her smiling face. She was a rose too sweet to bloom on earth and the Heavenly Father plucked the bud to blossom with his angels above.
