OBITUARY - MRS. MARY E. STARK.

Mary Etta BURRIS, daughter of William and Margaret BURRIS, was born near Bloomfield, Davis county, Iowa, April 4, 1847, and died May 6, 1930, at the age of 83 years, one month and two days. In early life she united with the Christian church and ever after her life was one of faith. She was a devoted wife, a faithful mother and a good neighbor. She was married to J. B[oon]. STARK November 22, 1865, and to this union seven children - one son and six daughters - were born. They were Mrs. Alice HART, Mrs. Minnie GIBSON, Mrs. Imogene DICKERSON, of Mount Ayr; A. R. STARK of Omaha; two daughters dying in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Louie MORGAN, having passed away nine weeks ago. The husband departed this life last July.

Beside the children, she leaves 29 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her death.

Funeral services were held at the home Friday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. W. Harold SMITH, pastor of the Church of Christ, and interment was made in Rose Hill cemetery.

We wish to acknowledge with sincere thanks the kind deeds and words of sympathy expressed by our neighbors and friends during the illness and at the death of our loving mother; also for the beautiful floral offering.

NOTE: J. Boon STARK, husband of Mary Etta (BURRIS) was born in 1844, and died July of 1929 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr. Of J. Boon and Mary Etta (BURRIS) STARK's children:
Alice (STARK) HART was born in 1867, and died in 1957 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband Grant HART (1865-1938);
Minnie E. (STARK) GIBSON was born in 1872, and died in 1966 with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband George W. GIBSON (1870-1960); and,
Imogene (STARK) DICKERSON was born in 1884, and died in 1974 at Rose Hill Cemetery beside her husband William DICKERSON (1877-1964), parents of Dale Leland DICKERSON and Evan L. DICKERSON (1920-1981), both interred at Rose Hill Cemetery.
