DEATH of GRANDMA SNEDAKER.

Mrs. Jane SNEDAKER died at the home of her son, J. E. SNEDAKER, in this city, on Sunday, Jan. 31, after a long and painful illness. She was born July 2, 1813, in Brown county, Ohio, her maiden name being Jane McCOY. She was married on March 23, 1835, to Wm. SNEDAKER, and to them were born ten children - eight of whom are living. They are: George H. SNEDAKER, Jesse E. SNEDAKER, Mrs. Melvin BENNETT, Mrs. Joseph BENNETT, Mrs. N. W. CLARK, Wm. SNEDAKER, of Lucas county, Mrs. M. T. McINTIRE and Mrs. WINFIELD, of Illinois.

The family lived in Illinois for nearly thirty years, and then Mr. and Mrs. SNEDAKER moved to Ringgold county in 1879. They have since made this place their home. The husband died Nov. 27, 1891.

Mrs. SNEDAKER had been sick for a long time with heart trouble and bronchitis, but she bore her affliction bravely and without complaining. She was ever an earnest christian, and often spoke of her trust in the Savior, and of her readiness to go at His call. In early youth she joined the Presbyterian church and loved its ministrations. Her children will ever remember her as a kind and loving mother, a wise counselor, and a true friend.

The funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon. Short services were conducted at 9:15 at the house, and at 10 o'clock at the First Presbyterian church. Rev. ALEXANDER preached the funeral sermon. The remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in Rose Hill cemetery. The sympathy of many friends is given the bereaved ones.
