OBITUARY - HARRY AUSTIN SKINNER

Funeral services for H[arry] Austin SKINNER, Gardiner [Oregon], who died March 16 in the Keizer hospital at North Bend, were held Marcg 19 from the Unger funeral home, with Rev. J. K. GRIFFITHS officiating. Interment was in the Masconic cemetery in Reedsport [OR]. Born in Kellerton, Iowa, March 22 1892, Mr. SKINNER spent the first 24 years of his life in that state before moving to Kansas, where he married Ethel Gatewood, June 2, 1915. He had been a resident of Gardiner for the last 10 years. He is survived by his widow, a sister, Mrs. Bernice MOORE, Portland; two daughters, Mrs. Imogene CARDWELL, Reedsport and Mrs. Irene BRADFORD, Gardiner; one son, Darrell SKINNER, Gardiner. Also by six garandchildren and several nephews and one niece. He served with the merchant marines in the late World War, making several trips to the South Pacific. He also worked in one of the Portland shipyards until he was forced to stop on account of a back injury.

NOTE: Harry Austin was the son of Austin William and Mary S. (SHELDEN) SKINNER.
