A. W. SKINNER SERVICES HELD

Austin W. SKINNER was born February 17, 1859 at Erie, Pennsylvania and passed away on April 30, 1924 at Kansas City, Missouri. He moved at an early age to Ashtabula, Ohio and age of nineteen to Kellerton, [Ringgold County] Iowa. He was united in marriage to Mary S. SHELDEN on May 23, 1880. To this union was born five children, one son, Austin and four daughters, Lillian, Ellen, Mae, and Bernice. Of this loving family the mother and two elder daughters, Lilla and Ellen have gone on before.

The past two years he has been a faithful student of Christian Science and found faith which gave him the comfort and hope he had long desired. Until this time of his last illness, he was a faithful attendant to the Sunday and mid-week services of the First Church of Christ Scientist, first in Denver and later in Kansas City. His last message to his children was, "I know all is well with me".

The body was brought to Kellerton, Friday evening and the funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at two o' clock at the Christian Church, conducted by the pastor, Reverant J. C. HARRIS and interment made in Maple Row Cemetery.

NOTE: Mary S. (SHELDEN), Austin's wife, was born February 19, 1861 in Indiana, the daughter of Truman Chapin SHELDEN (1832-1886) and Lydia A. (GOFF) SHELDEN (1841-1925). She died in Monroe Township of Ringgold County, Iowa at the age of 47 on January 25, 1909.
