DEATH of ABRAHAM MOSIER.

After an illness of several months' duration, Abraham MOSIER, pioneer settler and highly respected citizen of Ringgold county, passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed DUGAN, in east Mount Ayr Thursday, March 26. Mr. MOSIER was born in Holmes county, Ohio, May 28, 1829, and was 85 years, nine months and 26 days old at the time of his death. When about six years of age he moved with his parents to Lee county, Iowa, where he grew to manhood and was united in marriage with Miss Emma MACKLE June 18, 1862. To this union nine children were born, four dying in infancy. His wife preceded him in death March 19, 1881, leaving him with the care of the five children. One daughter, Mrs. Nellie SUMNERS, died November 21, 1921. Four children, John W. MOSIER of Harbor, Oregon, Mrs. Ed DUGAN, Mrs. J. A. DRAKE, and Mrs. Sam LUCAS, all of Mount Ayr, are left to mourn his death and were at the bedside when the end came. One brother, Isaac MOSIER of Mount Ayr, and one sister, Mrs. Anna BEEBE of Eureka, Calif., survive. He is also survived by twenty-four granchildren and thirty great grandchildren.

Mr. MOSIER was converted in a revival meeting held in the little red school house near his home about forty-seven years ago and united with the United Brethern church and always kept the fiat. About twenty-six years ago he transferred his membership to the Free Methodist church. He was a good father, always busy as long as he was able doing something for others, and will be greatly missed. He was willing to go and anxiously awaited the summons. A few minutes before the end he said, "O, Lord, take me home."

The funeral service was held Friday, March 27, at the Oakland church, conducted by the Free Methodist minister, Rev. Ingram of Tabor, Iowa. He was laid by the side of his wife in Oakland cemetery to await the resurrection.
