The Mount Ayr Record-News, 1930

DEATH of an INFANT.

Little Richard LeRoy, the infant son of C. E. and Anna MILLER, was born November 2, 1930, and passed away at the home of his parents Saturday evening [November 19, 1930] at about 9:30 at the tender age of one month and eighteen days. His suffering, although only one short week and of a larnyx nature, was intense. But he was a bundle of patience and all that medical skill and loving hands could possibly do was willingly rendered. Although here but such a short while he won the hearts of all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn, besides the grief-stricken parents, three brothers and two sisters, grandparents, uncles, aunts and a host of other relatives and friends.

For so short a time
A little life to us was given,
Just a bud on earth
To bloom in heaven.

Funeral services were held at the home Mnday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by Elder J. D. DILLE of Benton, and the little body was laid to rest in the Benton cemetery.

NOTE: Richard's siblings were interred beside him: Doris Lucile MILLER, born January 29, 1919, and died April 27, 1926; and Infant Daughter, born and died March 8, 1932. Charles ELton (C. E.) MILLER was born on Febuary 27, 1891, and died on July 30, 1972. Anna (?) MILLER was born on June 13, 1899, and died August 2, 1977. They were interred at Benton Cemetery, Benton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
