OBITUARY - P. W. MILLER.

Perry Walton MILLER, son of John H. and Eliza (WALTON) MILLER, was born December 23, 1854, in Muscatine county, Iowa, and died at the home of his son Roy near Tingley April 11, 1933, at the age of 78 years, three months and 19 days. On April 18, 1877, he ws united in marriage to Adela F. SIMPSON at Muscatine, Iowa, and came to Unon county to establish their home on what is known as the Charles GRIPP farm, northwest of what now is Shannon City. To this union were born seven sons and three daughters, all of whom are living except the eldest daughter, Mellis. They are Frank of Muscatine, Iowa; Arthur of Talley, N.D.; Roy Robert of Louisville, Ky.; Ross of Brookins, S.D.; Vesta and Alvin of Jerome, Idaho; and Dorothy and Floyd, living in Eveleth, Minn. Union county was open range when these pioneers started to build their home. Besides the children, the departed leaves twenty- four grandchildren to mourn his loss, his wife having preceded him in death several years ago. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Methodist church in Shannon City in charge of the pastor, Rev. W. L. HAWN. Interment in the local cemetery [Oakland, a.k.a. Shannon City Cemetery].

NOTE: Adela F. (SIMPSON), wife of Perry Walton MILLER, was born in 1855 and died in 1929 with interment at Oakland Cemetery, Ringgold County, Iowa.
