DEATH of MRS. HARDIN MIDDLESWORTH.

After an illness of several months' duration. Mrs. Hardin MIDDLESWORTH, a resident of Mount Ayr for more than fifty years and one of the best loved women of the community, passed peacefully away at her home in northeast Mount Ayr Monday night. Due to the infirmities of old age she had been in declining health for several years on during her long illness she was patient and uncomplaining. The death of Mrs. MIDDLESWORTH marks the passing of a noble christian life.

Elizabeth WARREN MIDDLESWORTH, daughter of Peter L. WARREN and Amanda P. WARREN, was born November 23rd, 1850, in Shelby county, Illinois, and departed this life at her home in Mount Ayr, Iowa, March 4th, 1930, aged 79 years, three months and 11 days.

She lived on her father's farm in Shelby county until her marriage to Mr. Hardin MIDDLESWORTH on February 9th, 1874. They resided on a farm in Shelby county until 1878 when they then moved to Mount Ayr, Iowa. To them were born four sons - Wilfred C. of Albugquerque, New Mexico; Erle L. of Kansas City, Mo.; Dey W. of Mount Ayr; one son dying in infancy.

Mrs. MIDDLESWORTH united with the Christian church during her girlhood days, her father being pastor of the Christian church in their community for many years. She was a member of the local church and an active worker in the church in her earlier days. Mrs. MIDDLESWORTH was a home loving mother, a kind mother and a good neighbor. She was known to all her friends as "Mernie." And though her illness was prolonged she was always glad to visit with them and thankful for their visits.

She is survived by her husband - Hardin MIDDLESWORTH, Will WARREN, her brother of Shelby county, and her three sons.

Funeral services were held yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon at the Church of Christ and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. W. Harold SMITH. Interment was in the beautiful Rose Hill cemetery [Mount Ayr].
