OBITUARY
George W. MICHAEL was born in Fayett (sic) county, Penn., July 7th, 1812; died June 8th, 1891, aged 78 years, 11 months and 1 day. He was married in Ross county, O[hio]., to Elenear (sic) ARCHER, June 1st, 1840. He moved from Ohio to Indiana in 1855. He enlisted in the service of his country October 10, 1861, and was one of the 400,000 volunteers called for by President Lincoln. He rendered faithful and efficient service till December 24, 1864, when he recieved his discharge at Chicago. He was in Company B, 15th infantry regiment, veteran volunteer.
The funeral services took place at the Salem church conducted by Rev. E. E. AUXIER, and his text was taken from 1st Thess. 4, 13. His theme was the "Resurrection Hope." His wife's death occured one month previous and her funeral took place May 2nd. [They were interred at Tedrow Cemetery near Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.]
NOTE: Ellen (ARCHER) MICHAEL died on May 1, 1891 at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 9 days.
